About this chapter
London, 1891. From the window of 221B Baker Street, Sherlock Holmes notices that the lamplighter has lit the same lantern three times in one night. He and Dr. John Watson follow the light through the fog to a barge on the river, where thieves are counting silver stolen from the Bank of London, and Inspector Lestrade's police lanterns close in. Back at Baker Street, Holmes explains the clue: river mud on a lamplighter's boots.
Drawn in the Noir ink · red accent style — stark black and white with a single red colour for the ties and the lantern — using the Classic grid page format on six 3:4 pages.
How it was made: Holmes, Watson and Lestrade are public-domain characters. The comic was started with Skip, start from text, so Comic Studio found all three characters in the story by itself and drew a reference sheet for each before splitting the story into six pages. The story itself was written for this sample.
