About this chapter

Mina Park develops her film in the university darkroom and keeps finding the same tall boy in the background of her photos. She tracks him down at the campus pool — swim-team captain Kai Tanaka, reading a novel by her favourite secret author, Blue Heron — and discovers the handwritten next chapter inside the cover. The last photo of the chapter is the first one where he is not in the background.

This is a vertical webtoon: the soft pastel webtoon style with the Webtoon page format on tall 9:16 pages, so each page scrolls like a strip on a phone. Captions sit in clean boxes, and the only sound effects are a darkroom DRIP and a camera CLICK.

How it was made: Mina and Kai come from the Comic Studio character library. The studio drew a pastel sheet for each, split about 190 words of story into five tall pages and lettered every balloon. Changing the format to Webtoon and the ratio to 9:16 in the style step is all it takes to get vertical pages.
