A2E AI Alternative: 6 Tools for Video, Swaps and Avatars

A2E markets itself as an all-in-one AI video toolset: image to video, face swap, head swap, lip sync, talking photos, voice cloning and live AI avatars sit behind one login. That breadth is the reason a single A2E AI alternative rarely covers everything, and also the reason most people only need one or two of those jobs. This guide splits A2E into the jobs people actually use it for, then names the tool that fits each job. LazyKiwi is our product and appears first for image to video and video face swap, the two jobs it does; for talking avatars and voice work we point you elsewhere. Every price below was read from the vendor's own pricing page on 28 October 2026.

What is A2E AI and what does it actually do?

Open the A2E home page and the tool list is long: image to video, head swap, face swap, talking photo, talking video, lip sync, voice clone, video to audio, actor animation, product avatars, cloth swap and an interactive AI avatar with low latency. It also runs third-party models. On the day we checked, the home page listed Seedance 2.5 as live, Wan 3.0 in beta, GPT Image 2.5 as new and Kling 4.0 as coming soon.

A2E puts this under the line "Free, Personal AI Videos" and a privacy-first pitch. In practice the product has two audiences. One group uses it as an avatar studio: clone a voice, build a custom avatar, make it speak. The other uses it as a quick image-to-video and face swap site. The best A2E AI alternative depends on which group you are in.

Is A2E AI free? Plans and credit costs in October 2026

Yes, there is an A2E AI free plan. The A2E pricing page lists Free at $0 with 30 bonus credits a day (claimed by checking in), a watermark, 720P video, low-priority processing, 10 custom avatars and one voice clone slot. Paid plans are sold as one-time purchases rather than auto-renewing subscriptions: Pro is $14.9 for one month, $29.9 for three months or $89.9 for a year, with 60 bonus credits a day and 1,500 credits upfront each month; Ultra is $59.9 for one month, $119 for three months or $365 for a year, with 90 bonus credits a day and 9,000 upfront credits.

One detail to know before you pay: the comparison grid lower down that page shows Pro at $19.9 and Ultra at $79.9, so the card price and the table price did not match on the day we checked. Read the checkout screen, not the table.

The comparison table lower on the A2E pricing page lists different headline prices ($19.9 and $79.9) from the plan cards above it.

  • Image to video: 30 credits per 5-second video, per the credit schedule on the pricing page.
  • AI avatar (lip-sync) video: 1 credit per second, so a one-minute avatar video is 60 credits.
  • Video face swap: 1 credit per second; image face swap: 1 credit per image.
  • Voice clone and video avatar creation: free, you pay for the length of what you generate.
  • Top-ups for Pro and Ultra users: $19.90 for 1,800 credits or $80 for 16,000; card or crypto.

So the A2E AI free plan is real but narrow: 30 daily credits cover one 5-second image-to-video clip or about half a minute of face swap, with a watermark.

Why people look for an A2E alternative

Nothing here is a verdict on A2E's output; we did not benchmark it. These are the practical reasons that show up in the search results and on A2E's own pages.

  • The Free tier is watermarked and capped at 720P, so anything you want to post needs a paid plan.
  • Credits are metered per second for avatars and swaps, which is easy to under-estimate on longer clips.
  • Plans are one-time purchases, so the plan ends unless you buy again. Some people prefer that; others want a normal subscription.
  • Google's related searches for the brand include "A2E AI not working", "A2E AI app" and "A2E AI image to video free", which points to people checking reliability, a mobile app and a free image-to-video path.
  • Many users only need one job. A dedicated tool for that job can be simpler than a 15-tool dashboard.

LazyKiwi: the A2E AI alternative for image to video and face swap

LazyKiwi is ours, so read this as a vendor describing its own product. The video generator offers four starting points: a prompt, a single photo, a first and last frame pair, or a ready-made template. Engines available side by side include Seedance 2.5, Kling v3 Omni and Veo 3, so you can run one photo through two models and keep the better clip. The image to video page covers the single-photo route, and the template hub holds 300+ templates and effects for one-click clips.

For swaps, the AI video face swap finds every face in the clip first, then you select one or more faces and add a photo for each. Motion, cuts and the original audio stay, and the lips follow the original speaker. The same tool takes GIFs through GIF face swap, and Character Swap exchanges the entire figure, clothes and all, when a face is not enough.

Pricing on lazykiwi.ai/pricing on 28 October: a no-cost plan whose credits top up each month and which asks for no card, then Starter at $14 ($12 when paid annually), Basic $29, Pro $75 and Ultimate $120, month to month. Paid plans export without a watermark and include commercial use. What LazyKiwi does not have: talking avatars, lip sync from a script, voice cloning or video translation. If those are why you use A2E, keep reading.

HeyGen: the alternative for talking avatars

HeyGen is the obvious pick if the A2E feature you rely on is a presenter reading a script. The HeyGen pricing page allows 3 watermarked videos a month on its $0 tier, up to 1 minute each, access to Avatar IV and Video Agent, and 500+ ready-made presenters. Creator is $29 a month with 600 credits, 1080p export, branding removed, a custom video avatar with your own voice and 175+ languages and dialects. Pro is $49 a month with 1,000 credits, 4K export and videos up to 30 minutes.

Compared with A2E, HeyGen is narrower but deeper on avatars and translation. It is not a face swap tool. Our longer comparison of presenter tools is in HeyGen alternatives.

Vidnoz: free daily credits for avatar videos

Vidnoz is the closest match to the A2E AI free plan model of daily credits. On the Vidnoz pricing page the no-cost tier hands out 30 credits a day (listed as about 60 seconds of video), videos up to 3 minutes, 1,600+ AI avatars, 3,400+ templates and 720p export. Starter is $19.99 a month billed yearly ($26.99 month to month) with 450 credits a month plus 90 free a day, 1080p and no watermark; Business is $56.99 a month billed yearly and adds voice clone and video translation.

Vidnoz also has photo, video and multiple face swap on a separate page, so it covers two A2E jobs at once.

Akool and Magic Hour: swap studios with avatars on the side

Akool's pricing page lists a $0 Free tier and Starter at $12 per seat monthly on annual billing ($144 a year), with video up to 1080P, all face swap models and no watermark; new accounts get 20 free credits on sign-up. Its swap panel covers face, character, motion, head, hair and clothing swaps. Akool also sells streaming avatars and voice cloning on higher tiers.

Magic Hour is a collection of single-purpose tools on one plan: image to video, face swap video, talking photo, lip sync, character replace and more. Creator costs $12 monthly when paid annually ($144), with Pro at $25 and Business at $66; its home page says core tools are free to try without signing up.

Kling AI: when you mostly used A2E for its video models

A2E's image-to-video menu includes third-party engines like Kling 3.0, Seedance 2.0 and Wan 2.7 for image to video. If that was the main draw, going to a model maker directly is another route. The Kling membership page lists a free Basic tier and a Standard tier discounted to $6.99 for its first month before renewing at $8.8, carrying 660 credits, 1080p and 4K output, no brand watermark and generated content cleared for commercial use. Pro and above add Kling 4.0. The trade-off is one model family instead of several, which is the opposite of what A2E and LazyKiwi offer.

Which A2E AI alternative should you pick?

  • You animate photos or run effects: LazyKiwi, which pairs a choice of engines with ready presets.
  • You swap faces in videos or GIFs with more than one person: LazyKiwi or Akool.
  • You need a talking presenter from a script: HeyGen, or Vidnoz if daily free credits matter most.
  • You want many small tools on one bill, including talking photos: Magic Hour.
  • You only want Kling's models: Kling directly.

Most people who search for sites like A2E AI end up using two tools rather than one. That is fine: an image-to-video workbench plus a dedicated avatar tool often costs about the same as one larger plan, and each does its job with fewer settings to learn.

Key takeaways

  • A2E bundles image to video, face and head swap, lip sync, talking photos, voice clone and AI avatars; most users need one or two of these.
  • A2E's Free plan gives 30 bonus credits a day with a watermark and 720P; Pro was $14.9 for one month as a one-time payment on 28 October 2026.
  • For image to video and multi-face video swaps, LazyKiwi is the closest A2E AI alternative; it has no talking avatars.
  • For presenters and translation, HeyGen (Creator $29/mo) and Vidnoz (30 free credits a day) fit better.

FAQ

Common questions

What is the best A2E AI alternative?

That comes down to the task. For image to video and face swaps in videos or GIFs, LazyKiwi runs several video models and lets you pick which faces to replace. For talking avatars, HeyGen and Vidnoz are closer matches. Magic Hour covers many small tools on one plan.

Is A2E AI free?

A2E lists a $0 Free plan that grants 30 bonus credits a day, a watermark, 720P video and low-priority processing, per its pricing page on 28 October 2026. That covers about one 5-second image-to-video clip a day. Paid plans are one-time purchases starting at $14.9 for a month.

Are there sites like A2E AI with daily free credits?

Yes. Vidnoz gives 30 free credits a day on its Free plan, and Magic Hour's face swap page showed a daily allowance of free photo swaps. LazyKiwi refreshes free credits monthly rather than daily, with no card required to sign up.

Can LazyKiwi make talking avatar videos like A2E?

No. LazyKiwi does image to video, templates, video and GIF face swap and character swap. It has no talking avatar, script-to-lip-sync, voice cloning or translation tool, so for those jobs HeyGen, Vidnoz, Akool or Magic Hour are the better fit.

Is the A2E alternative from LazyKiwi a subscription?

LazyKiwi has a Free plan plus monthly or yearly subscriptions: Starter $14 a month or $12 a month billed yearly, up to Ultimate at $120 a month on monthly billing. There is also a pay-as-you-go option. A2E, by contrast, sells one-time plans.
