Specs

Virality predictor specs: what goes in, what comes out

Input

A thumbnail image, or a short clip up to 60 seconds, plus the caption if you have one

Output

A 0 to 100 score, a one-line verdict, and a fix for each of: hook, pacing, thumbnail, caption

Judged on

What is readable in the first three seconds, contrast and faces in the thumbnail, cuts per ten seconds, the caption's first five words

Not judged on

Your follower count or the algorithm's mood; it scores the asset, not your account

How to predict virality in 3 steps

A thumbnail is enough to start. Add the clip and the caption for the full card.

Start now, it's free

Step 1

Upload the thumbnail or the clip

The cover frame you plan to use, or the clip itself. Paste the caption too if you have written it.

Step 2

Read the score card

One number, one verdict, one fix per weak spot. A 47 with "nothing happens for four seconds" is more useful than a vague 7 out of 10.

Step 3

Fix and re-score

Recut the first three seconds, swap the thumbnail or rewrite the caption, and run it again until the number moves.

A number you can argue with

A number you can argue with

The score is built from things you can change: what is readable in the first three seconds, whether the thumbnail has a face or a strong contrast, how often the clip cuts, and whether the caption's first five words say anything.

  • 0 to 100, not stars
  • Same inputs, same score
  • Scores the asset, not your account
One line, no padding

One line, no padding

Each card leads with a blunt sentence: "the hook is the 8th second", "the thumbnail is a grey rectangle", "the dog does all the work". You can switch between a kind and a roast tone.

One fix per weak spot

One fix per weak spot

Hook, pacing, thumbnail, caption: each gets a concrete change ("start on the pour, cut the walk-in"), not a list of best practices.

  • Hook: what to put first
  • Pacing: where to cut
  • Thumbnail and caption rewrites

FAQ

Virality predictor FAQ

Is the virality predictor free?+

Signing up is free and comes with free credits to try it. Each run shows its price before anything is charged.

How accurate is a virality score?+

It is a prediction about the asset, not a promise about reach. It measures the things that correlate with watch time (the first three seconds, the thumbnail, the cut rate, the caption) and tells you which one is weakest. Posting time, your audience and the platform still decide the rest.

What does the score look at?+

What is readable in the first three seconds, whether the thumbnail has a face or strong contrast, how many cuts there are per ten seconds, and whether the caption's first five words make a promise.

Can I score a TikTok, a Reel or a Short?+

Yes. Upload the clip or its cover frame; the checks are the same for vertical short-form on every platform.

Can I score a YouTube thumbnail on its own?+

Yes. A thumbnail alone returns the thumbnail and caption parts of the card; add the clip for the hook and pacing parts.

What is the roast mode?+

The same score with a harsher verdict, written to be screenshotted. Switch it off for the polite version.

Does it see my analytics?+

No. It never connects to your accounts; it only reads the file and the caption you upload.

Can I re-score after editing?+

Yes, as often as you like. Change one thing at a time so you can see what moved the number.
